Created as part of the Croome Redefined project in collaboration with the National Trust: Croome Court is a building within a building as 'Capability' Brown was commissioned in 1752 to redesign the existing building, as well as the parkland. Instead of demolishing what was there, he moved an exterior wall, extended the building at each side, and clad the whole in sandstone, all within an italiante, neo-classical design. We wanted to find a way to show both the original and existing buildings, and how they fit together, so we made a large-scale model, out of building blocks, that visitors could take apart and rebuild, and volunteers could use to illustrate explanations of the building's changes.
